Reconciled to God

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
-
There is no greater news than we are reconciled to God through Jesus Christ; if Jesus is your redeemer, your ministry is the ministry of reconciliation! Restore Lord, restore! If you are born again you have been given an ambassadorship! The declaration is sure and true! Whoever will truly call upon the name of the Lord can be reconciled to God! There is forgiveness and remission of sins found exclusively in Jesus Christ. Through Him and Him alone we can become a new creation!
-
Salvation is not a self improvement project! Salvation is dying to the sin nature and becoming a new creation in Christ Jesus. Life is found exclusively in Him and there is no other way to eternal life. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses. Without the righteousness of God imputed to us there is no salvation! No other form of righteousness is acceptable in the presence of the Holy God.

Romans 6:6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
-
Jesus set the standard high! For he who has died has been freed from sin. There are many who call them self saved but have never experienced the freedom from sin. There has never been a hungering after the righteousness of God; they have never hated what God hates and loved what God loves. The problem is they have yet to be truly reconciled to God.

Luke 14:26 "If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 27 "And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. 28 "For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it; 29 "lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 "saying, 'This man began to build and was not able to finish.' 31 "Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 "Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. 33 "So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.

Reconciliation with God is a complete surrender! No surrender; no salvation. Know surrender, know salvation! Saying the “sinners prayer” with the preacher is nothing if it did not come with complete surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Repentance and remission of sin is found exclusively in putting your faith and reliance upon the Lord Jesus Christ and nothing else! Salvation is full surrender to the King of kings and Lord of lords! We must hear the words of Jesus “can not be my disciple"…"can not be my disciple"… "can not be my disciple"! Jesus must be put first above all and complete and total surrender is required! Jesus set the standard high because the benefits of reconciliation are great and the new creation birthed is the beginning of the transformation in every true believers heart.

1 Corinthians 5:7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
-
Reconciliation comes and we have been called to keep the feast with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. The depth of the sacrifice is so precious and holy before God. Jesus pouring out His soul as a sin offering calls us to walk as a new lump, if you will? Leaven in the scriptures is talking usually symbolic of sin. In this passage it is specifically calling the believer not to walk with the old leaven by keeping the law of Moses or by the leaven of malice and wickedness. The trusted sacrifice has to be the Lamb of God! If we trust in any other we are not keeping the feast and honoring our Passover Lamb Jesus Christ! Very specifically in this passage of 1 Corinthians the church was allowing the leaven of wickedness by allowing a man to have his father's wife.

Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
-
The sacrifice for sin is so great it gives every believer the right to depend upon the High Priest Jesus Christ who sympathizes with our weaknesses. In the very hour of need and hurt you can come boldly into His throne room.

Psalm 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
-
The greatness of our God is awesome. He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases. His redemption is so great in it we are saved from destruction. Those in covenant with God are crowned with loving kindness and tender mercies. God is a good God and He satisfies our mouth with good things.

Lamentations 3:22 Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I hope in Him!"
-
Let the object of your faith ever be in God! His mercies are new every morning and His faithfulness is great. Put your hope in God! Be reconciled!

Isaiah 6:5 So I said: "Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts." 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth with it, and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged."
-
We have been brought to the alter that causes our purging! It is the eternal altar that Jesus made sacrifice upon.
-
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them. 10 We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.

Hebrews 12:24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.
-
Jesus' blood speaks better than the blood of Abel. Abel’s blood cried out for justice and punishment. Jesus' blood speaks forgiveness and reconciliation before God! Jesus' blood still speaks! This is where some of the old saints used to say “I plea the blood of Jesus”. It was pointing to the truth that Jesus' blood speaks! John wrote in Revelation that they overcame by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even unto death. Reconciliation comes at full surrender to Jesus the Messiah. It brings freedom from sin and liberty in righteousness.

John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. 14 "You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 "No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
-
So many say frivolously "Jesus is my friend"; however Jesus qualified friendship with Him! “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. True reconciliation comes with keeping His commands. You may sing the worship song all you would like “I am a friend of God”; however does your life qualify by the Word of God’s definition? Reconciliation with God is His heart beat; will you trust in the one where this reconciliation comes from?
