The Believer Walking With A Healthy Soul

God calls the believer to walk with a healthy soul!
The Believer Walking With A Healthy Soul

Psalms 103:11  For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;  12  As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

John 1:29  The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Hebrews 10:10  By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  … 14  For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Praise the Lord God has dealt with the sin issue once for all!  However, some have carried this truth of God’s “once for all sacrifice” to illogically, and even worse, erroneous conclusions.  Rightly dividing the word of truth can make the difference between walking in victory or victory being illusive!  The word of God itself separates between the spirit, soul, and body of man.  There are scriptures that speak to the spirit, scriptures that speak to the soul, and verses that address the body of man.

Hebrews 12:22  But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,  23  to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,

We are joined back to God Spirit to spirit; we are given a new man!  It is a spirit man, if any man be in Christ he is a new creation, the old things passed away, and behold, all things have become new.  This is a truth of our spirit.

However, with this truth said we must understand a perfected spirit still has to deal with the soul of man which needs transformation.  The souls renewal begins by reckoning the old man of flesh dead!  Yes, God does see us Spirit to spirit; however, God is not blind to the condition of our soul.  As the Father of all spirits, he will bring correction to us so our souls will come into line with what has already been accomplished in our spirits.

2 Timothy 2:19  Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."  20  But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.  21  Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

This passage in 2 Timothy demonstrates this truth.  Those who belong to God have a seal of ownership upon them.  There are vessels of honor and vessels of dishonor in the same house.  Vessel of dishonor are those who have the seal of ownership yet have not departed from iniquity.  Every vessel of God is called for honor and sanctification to be used by the Master. God has called us to become vessels of honor in His house.

1 Corinthians 5:4  In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5  deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.  6  Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?  7  Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.  8  Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

According to the Word of God, when believers begin to walk a sinful lifestyle and call that same lifestyle as acceptable to God, the church is called to separate themselves from them.  Look intently into this passage!  Deliver such a one to satan for the destruction of the flesh that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.  Yes it is clear the Word of God divides between spirit, soul, and body and so should we!  If a believer walks in sinful lifestyle, God is willing for the destruction of the flesh to save his spirit.

1 Corinthians  5:10  Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11  But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; not even to eat with such a person.

This passage makes clear we are not talking about judging those who do not belong to the body of Christ.  A brother living a sinful lifestyle should not be those whom you keep company with.  This is a word largely ignored by the church.   For Jesus Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us!  Verse 8 of thus passage brings clarity.  8  Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven (The law of Moses), nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness (a sinful lifestyle), but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth (the covenant of grace and truth).

Romans 12:9  Let love be without hypocrisyAbhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.

The church can not afford to call sinful lifestyles good when God calls it evil!  Accepting a sinful lifestyle in a brother or sister in Christ is loving with hypocrisy; it is walking with a sin sick soul!  We have been called to walk in the newly created man that God has made us.  It is time to quit behaving like mere men!

Romans 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  2  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We have been called to renew our mind and bring our body to be a living sacrifice.  Could the difference between the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God be the degree to which we surrendered our body and our transformed soul into line with the perfected spirit God has given us?

1 Timothy 5:20  Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear.

The mentor Paul admonished Timothy to rebuke in the presence of all, those who are sinning!  Yes there is a biblical dividing between spirit, soul, and body,  The brethren walking in sin should be rebuked in the presence of all!  This is the Word of God.

Ephesians 5:5  For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.  6  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.  7  Therefore do not be partakers with them.  8  For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

God has called His children not to be partakers with the children of darkness!  Now you are light in the Lord!  Walk as children of the light.

1 Peter 4:3  For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles; when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.  4  In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you.

We spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the unbelievers.  The church is not called to be reflection of the world; we have been called to be a reflection of the Word of God.  Stand up and be the vessel of honor ready for our Master’s use!

1 Thessalonians  4:3  For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;  4  that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,  5  not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God;  6  that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified.  7  For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.  8  Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God,who has also given us His Holy Spirit.

Do you know how to possess your vessel in sanctification?  Be made new in the spirit of your mind!  Let your soul receive the Word of God and become a refection of the Word.  To reject this word is to reject God!  Walk with a healthy soul and be a vessel of honor!
