Grace influences our lives in every way! Divine influence shows the way to relationships between husbands and wives, parents and children, employee and employer, and every relationship in between. Grace brings victory in spiritual warfare!
Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
The divine influence of God will change our relationships. It will make husbands, wives, children, fathers, mothers, friendships and work relationships be successful. If we will hear and heed the leading of the Spirit of God it will bring health to our relationships. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. We have not left the idea of putting off, be renewed, put on! Wives can only walk this out in the newly created being God has made them. The greater truth being shared is the relationship between Jesus Christ and His bride the church. The husband as the head of the wife is but a microcosm of Jesus is the head of the church. Jesus is the Savior of the body!
Ephesians 5:24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
As the wife as to be subject to her husband so the church is subject to Jesus Christ. Husbands love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church. Again, it is in putting off the old and putting on the new that a man can love his wife to such degree. The greater truth is Jesus Christ loves the church!
Ephesians 5:26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
Jesus loves us so much; He is the one doing the work in us! He sanctifies, cleanses, washes, present her as glorious, spotless, holy, and without blemish. What a awesome Savior.
Ephesians 5:28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
Husbands be a God imitator, love your wife. Nourish and cherishes her just as Jesus does the church.
Ephesians 5:30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31 "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh."
We are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bone. We are one with Christ!
Ephesians 5:32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
Receive the instruction between the husband and wife relationship. However, don’t miss the greater truth of relationship between Jesus Christ and the church.
Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise: 3 "that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth."
Grace teaches children to obey their parents. It is a command with promise! You are never too old to honor your father and mother. Ask God to show specific way to walk in obedience to this truth.
Ephesians 6:4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
Parents are to raise their children, training them in the admonition of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:5 Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; 6 not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
Grace influences employee/ employer relationships. Employees need to serve the employer with a heart of honoring God in their service.
Ephesians 6:7 with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. 9 And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.
God will reward you for being a good employee look to Him for your reward. Employer walk with the fear of God as you supervise your employee. Divine influence touches every relationship the believer has.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
If you have ignored the commands of relationship up to this point, there is no way you will do spiritual warfare successfully. Notice the command is be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. We must do spiritual warfare from victory. Not to get the victory but because God has already given us the victory we can do spiritual warfare. Put on… PUT ON… Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Satan has schemes and tricks that he desires to pull against the believer. God has brought us to the victory and now teaches us to walk in the victory.
Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
The people around you are not your enemy! Our warfare is not against flesh and blood. We wrestle against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Remember we taught “shut the door on the devil”. The truth of who we are in Christ is our armor and we must get dressed in that armor every day! When the word of God is exalted the strongholds of the enemy will come down! Every believer is equipped for warfare.
Ephesians 6:13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
If we are going to stand in the victory God provided, we are going to learn to put on the whole armor of God! This is the truth twice stated verses 11 and 13. Notice every piece of armor points to Jesus Christ and what He has given the believer already.
Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Stand fast with what God has given you. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. The truth is we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. We are chosen, beloved, adopted, forgiven, accepted in the beloved. Gird your waist with the truth of Jesus and the provision He brings. Put on the breastplate of righteousness; Jesus took your sin and bore it and imputed His righteousness to you. Put it on, put it in your mouth, I am righteous. Put the gospel of peace in your mouth! The Father has made a way of reconciliation for all. The good news needs preached! Jesus paid it all so we don’t have to! Get those shoes on and take the truth of the gospel to all.
Ephesians 6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
The just shall live by faith. Every fiery dart of the devil can be quenched with the shield of faith. Jesus gave you the measure of faith. There is nothing wrong with your faith; let in stand in the purity of the word of God. Don’t mix your faith with doubt or fear. Put on the helmet of salvation stand in what Christ has done for you! Take the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. The only offensive weapon we have is the word of God. Put the word in your mouth, meditate on it, and declare it. This is your spiritual warfare!
