Galatians And Ephesians Through The Eyes Of Grace Lesson 2

Lesson 2 shared 2 main themes; the 3 fold revelation of knowing the Father better, the greater the revelation the greater we participate in all He has for us. God is not mad at the believer!
Ephesians 1:15  Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16  do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:  17  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

In our last lesson we left off with this same passage.  Paul is praying for the church; it is the heartbeat of God for you to know Him better!  We know the Father better when the spirit of wisdom and revelation is yielded to!

Isaiah 11:1  There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. 2  The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD .

Paul was praying for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of the Father to be yours; he was praying that you would have what Jesus had.  Jesus is the Branch and the Spirit of the LORD rested upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understand,… Paul was praying in line with the word of God for the saints.  This is the will of God for the children.  Knowing the Father better it is a three fold revelation.

Ephesians 1:18  the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

It starts with illumination of your understanding.  Three things the Father wants you to know and understand.

1st He wants you to know the hope of His calling.  Christ in you the hope of glory!  When we answer the call of God we have a place we belong.  Hope is the certain expectation that what God has promised will come to pass.  Remember from lesson 1, blessed, chosen, accepted in the beloved, adopted with His good pleasure, forgiven of sin, made holy and blameless.  The Father has put this hope in us.

2nd The Father wants you to know the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. Peter said it was joy unspeakable and full of glory.  Remember Jesus made you a joint heir with Him!  Oh that we will draw from the Spirit of wisdom and understanding; the revelation of His love causes us to understand as Christ was so are we in this world.  Beloved indeed!

Ephesians 1:19  and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20  which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,  21  far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

The third part of the revelation is to know the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe.  The Father is exerting resurrection power toward you!  The power of God at work in the believer is the same power that raised Christ from the dead.  It is time for the believers to quit acting like mere men; we are newly created beings in Christ Jesus.  We have been reconciled to the Father by resurrection power!  We are empowered to live holy and blamelessly in this resurrection power.  His power has brought all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named under the Lordship of Jesus Christ!

Ephesians 1:22  And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,  23  which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Let the revelation come alive in us!  We can be certain of our hope in Him.  We are keenly aware of the inheritance to the partaking of it. We know the power that makes Jesus our Authority. He is the head we are His body and all things have been put under His feet.  Even if you are the little toe all principality and powers and might and dominion are under you!  Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.  The power of God is exuding out of you; you say I don’t feel it, or sense it.  The spirit of revelation knowledge will illuminate and make you a partaker of it!

Ephesians 2:1  And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2  in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,  3  among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

God made us alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins.  Under the law when the holy touched the common the common made the holy corrupted.  Jesus came as perfect sacrifice; and now when the Holy touches the common the common is made holy.  We are no longer sons of the disobedience; we are no longer by nature children of wrath.  That is what we were before the Holy touched the vile.  We use to conduct ourselves in the lust of our flesh but now we have been separated from the children of wrath.  God is not mad at you any more!

Ephesians 2:4  But God, who is rich in mercybecause of His great love with which He loved us, 5  even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

Mercy touched what was dead and brought it to life.  We are alive together with Christ. Because of His great love with which He loved us… because of His great love with which He loved us…  By Divine influence you have been saved.

Ephesians 2:6  and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7  that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

That which was vile has been made precious.  The quality of the transformation is so great the Father gives us a seat at the table of His grace and mercy.  We sit with Christ in the heavenly places!  The table has been set and the bread belongs to us!  We have hope, inheritance, and power to participate fully and feast from table set!

Ephesians 2:8  For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,  9  not of works, lest anyone should boast.  10  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Salvation by grace through faith.  The divine influence is God’s part and God gave you faith to participate in it.  God has given to every man the measure of faith.  Salvation is a gift and anyone who says we must earn it is liar and the truth is not in them.  Salvation is not of works least any man should boast.  We are God workmanship; we are His masterpiece.  We are not a self help project we are newly created beings in Christ Jesus.  The creation has purpose.  No longer behave like mere men rise up and do the good works you have been created to do.  Do the good works, full of hope, partaking in the inheritance, living in the power, and fulfilling the destiny.  Walk in God’s intended purpose.

Ephesians 2:11  Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh; who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands; 12  that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

Remember we came from hopelessness completely separated and aliens from the covenants of promise!

Ephesians 2:13  But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

BUT now we who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.  The blood is so powerful it makes the vile pure and brings us near to God!  Has the devil ever whispered to you how far you are from God?  Has man’s religion ever told you how far away you are?  But now you have been brought near by the blood; trust in Christ’ blood!

Ephesians 2:14  For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15  having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,  16  and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.

Jesus Himself is our peace!  Jesus is our oneness with God. Jesus broke down the wall of separation between the law, the Jews, and Gentiles by abolishing in His flesh the enmity!  The hostility is over between the believer and God!  Jesus abolished the law of commandments contained in ordinances; it stands against us no longer.  Jesus made peace with God for us!  The cross put to death the enmity.  Brought near by the blood and the hostility died at the cross; God is not mad.  The Father see the blood!

Ephesians 2:17  And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.  18  For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

The gospel announces the peace to those who will accept Jesus as their Messiah!  Because of Jesus we have peace and access by one Spirit to the Father!
